Grind size determination is specifically geared towards optimisation of the comminution process to minimise energy input whilst preventing overgrinding (i.e. slimes losses) or leaving too much locked material in the feed. Primary and regrind mill feed are commonly used as the samples to be analysed for grind size determination.
